How to Create Top Notch Videos That Will Help You Sell More

As business owners you have an amazing story to share about your journey. One of the best things you can do to build relationships with current and future clients is to share that story. In today's market customers want to make a connection with the businesses they buy products or services from. No one wants a sales pitch. They want engaging content and they want it from you.

The best way to scale your reach to new prospects is to share your story by making videos starring you! I'm going to share the process I use with my clients to structure their story into an engaging video that drives awareness of their brand and their sales.

Are you ready?

Step 1: Creating A Message for Your Video

Creating your message for your video is the most important step in the entire process. It is the foundation that you will build the rest of your video content on. What is your message? It is the core of why you are in business. It is the thing that motivated you to start the business and continues to motivate you to keep it alive everyday.

This step in the process requires you to really get in touch with your inner self. What made you take the leap all entrepreneurs must take in the first place to be successful? What keeps you going? What is the intangible that fuels your performance?

Once you figure that out it is time to move onto step two.

Step 2: Creating An Outline

Now that your message is set, it is time to create an outline for your video that centralizes around your message. Your outline should cover the following: why you love what you do, what you do and how you create solutions to solve your client’s problems.

Your outline will play out like a three act structure in a theater play or movie. Act 1 is your why. Act 2 is what you do. Act 3 is how you create the solution for your client’s problems.

Once you create your outline it is time to move onto step three.

Step 3: Creating Questions for Your Interview

The third and final step to creating top notch stories that sell more is to create compelling interview questions. For a two to three minute video I recommend sticking to no more than ten questions. This is how the questions should break down over your three act outline.

Act 1: Three questions that cover why you love what you do.

Act 2: Three questions that cover what you do.

Act 3: Four questions on how you create solutions to solve your client’s problems.

These three steps will help you form a compelling story that will help you build trust with your prospects and give them a clear call to action to contact you to solve their problem.

In my next post I will be sharing tips for being authentic on camera during your video interview.
